Samba is a lively, rhythmic dance that has been danced in Brazil since its inception in the late 19th century.There is actually a set of dances, rather than a single dance, that defines the Samba dancing scene and no one dance can be claimed with certainty as the "original" Samba style. Often dancers are accompanied by a Batucada; a group of professional drummers, which can also include a singer. During Carnaval, dancers traditionally wear elaborate costumes and dance in large schools. The Samba classes at RODA are designed for dancers of all experience levels and will demonstrate the depth and beauty of this dramatic and exciting Brazilian dance.
